Dear all,
We are finishing this week on a high with the celebration of the return to mask-less normal ways of learning and teaching for the benefit of our students. We are excited to be able to see students, staff and parents' beautiful smiles and happy faces. Please read the message to our community on why and how we are supporting the return to maskless learning and teaching that our students need and deserve. You can share a social story with your child about taking masks off.
We can all celebrate the joy of learning on students' faces.
Students that went on hikes over the last three weeks were telling me what a great experience it was. They all enjoyed their time with friends, developing their stamina, and following the planned routes. This week some secondary students had even more exciting adventures in Sai Kung during camp activities, which I was able to join on Friday. Rope climbing, kayaking, boat trip, more hiking and for the bravest of them all - jumping off the pier! I would like to thank May for organising hikes as part of our Play, Recreation and Leisure curriculum and Mike for organising the secondary camp. Memories made during those fun outdoor lessons will stay with our students forever.
I would like to thank our community for joining efforts to support children and families that are impacted by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria. I am proud to tell you that together we have raised HK$10100 for Safe the Children HK - Children’s Emergency Fund. Save the Children uses donations to empower children and their families devastated by disasters – like the earthquake in Turkey and Syria – to stay safe and healthy and to rebuild their lives.
We are looking forward to seeing you at the Art Exhibition Opening Evening on the 9th of March at 6 pm to celebrate our students' work.
Warm regards,
Anna
As part of the Play, Recreation and Leisure curriculum, secondary students completed three hikes in February. The students explored different parts of Hong Kong, starting with a walk at Victoria Peak, followed by exploring Dragon’s Back or Repulse Bay and finishing with Tai Mei Tuk and a picnic on the beach.
The students met with friends from different classes, building their social skills to talk about the hikes and what they enjoyed most. Some classes worked at school to prepare for the hike by deciding what they would need to take. During the hikes there were three groups, allowing for a range of difficulties in supporting the physical development of the students.
