Dear all,
As another week of school comes to an end, it is good to look back on some of the highlights.
Parent Teacher Therapist Conferences offered a very valuable opportunity for discussions about students' progress, achievements, and areas for growth. Parents' input, combined with the expertise of our educators and therapists, has allowed us to gain a comprehensive understanding of each student's unique strengths and stretches. As we move forward, I encourage you to maintain open lines of communication with your child's teachers and therapists.
The whole school trip to the Inspiration Lake was a day filled with fun, joy, and cherished memories for all involved. The event provided an excellent opportunity for our school community to bond. I would like to extend my appreciation to all parents and carers who were able to attend the trip. By joining us on this special day, you have not only enriched the experience for your child but also demonstrated the importance of shared experiences and family engagement.
The last two weeks of this term will be equally exciting, filled with memorable activities and opportunities for parent and staff engagement.
On the 8th of December, we will open Santa’s Grotto at JCSRS. Our volunteer Elves were very busy, and the Grotto is almost ready. Thanks to the JCSRS PTA’s donation, Santa will have presents for all students and take photos with them.
The JCSRS PTA will have a stall at the KGV School's Winter Festival on Friday, 8th December, from 5 to 8 pm. We need parent volunteers and your donations to make this PTA event a success. More information is below.
I am looking forward to seeing parents and family members engaging in fun school activities on offer. As always, I want to thank all the hardworking and dedicated staff for making every day such a success.
Warm regards,
Anna
This year, we will participate in the KGV School's Winter Festival on Friday, December 8th, from 5-8 p.m. JCSRS PTA will host two festive stalls to fundraise for the school - a Bake Sale and a Gift Sale.
Kindly fill in the Google form to indicate how you would like to contribute on this occasion.
We need your support for the following:-
Send individually packed home-baked items (labelled with ingredients) to school on Friday, 8 December. Kindly be reminded of the ‘No nut’ policy for any food prepared.
Sign up to volunteer for 45 minutes on the day between 4 and 8:30 p.m. to operate the stalls and help with set up and clear up. Your child can help if you think it will be appropriate.
Donate unused items or unwanted gifts to the school for the Gift Sale table from now until Wednesday, 6 December.
Your support and involvement are crucial in making this Winter Festival a memorable experience for everyone. We sincerely appreciate your commitment to our school community.

We recognise and value the importance of learning beyond the classroom. Our curriculum is purposely designed with educational visits linked to key learning areas to enhance student engagement. Please take a look at some of our recent offsite visits below.
Science Museum
Pearl, Gold, Diamond and Emerald classes recently visited the Science Museum of Hong Kong in Tsim Sha Tsui to support their learning in ‘The World Around Me’. Our students enjoyed a number of new exhibitions that have opened. The youngest students loved the building site and The Children’s Gallery on the top floor. Older students were captivated by the animatronic dinosaurs that have opened in a new section of the museum called Extinction · Resilience. The World of Mirrors continued as a JCSRS crowd-pleaser.

Inspiration Lake - Whole School Picnic
On Tuesday, 150 students, staff and volunteers enjoyed a beautiful day at Inspiration Lake. The weather was perfect, and the atmosphere was joyous and relaxed as students played, splashed and hiked, all with huge smiles on their faces. We were lucky to have around 40 volunteers from our community to spend the day.

Secondary - Save the date: for families of students aged 14 and above.
What next after JCSRS?
Thursday, 29th February, 5 - 6.30 pm
Start planning your child’s transition after JCSRS by attending this session to hear from a range of outside agencies and speak directly with representatives who can provide information to support your transition planning.
Agencies include Love 21, Nesbitt Centre, YES: Youth Empowerment Services, SENsational Foundation, Lohas Garden and more.
This past month, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting seven students from three ESF secondary schools. They each spent a week in our secondary classrooms working alongside our students as part of their service action program.
Michelle from WIS returned for her second year, and Anya from KGV made a return visit to join Sapphire Class’s Diwali Assembly.
Historically, the program has been known for its memorable impact, and this year was no exception.
Student Reflections
‘It was an extraordinary experience where I can learn to understand more about how others learn.’
‘The experience has increased my confidence to try new things.’
‘The JCSR community has left a special place in my heart after only 4 days.’
‘There is so much to learn and love about the people and the time spent at JCSRS.’
