Dear all,
I would like to express my thanks to all of you for making our first Chinese New Year Show, A Journey Around Hong Kong, such a memorable event.
The show celebrated the rich and diverse culture of Hong Kong, but it also sent a powerful message for us all to embrace, encourage, and celebrate our similarities and differences. One of the main reasons I am proud to be working for the ESF is the organisation's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. While watching our show, I could feel our shared commitment to making JCSRS a place where everyone is appreciated for who they are and the celebration of our similarities and differences.
I want to thank our colleagues from ESF, JCSRS School Council and our community partners for supporting our students at our school, Access, cross-school events, and community and vocational learning. Thank you for creating opportunities and for embracing our students' diversity.
Parents, thank you for the respect that you show us in our daily interactions and for the appreciation of our staff contributions. During the show, the positive energy of the audience and the encouragement and appreciation of all the students reflected our shared commitment to making JCSRS the place where we all belong.
The show was a joint effort of all dedicated and committed staff who built on our student's strengths to create memorable experiences. Our staff's deep knowledge of students and the strong relationships that they have with them were visible throughout the show. Of course, special thanks have to go to our creative directors, Jackie, Alfert, and Karen, who are the brilliant minds behind the script, stage set and props, and combining all music and dance pieces. Most importantly, they did an exceptional job of getting the best out of our students and staff.
Last but not least, I want to thank our students for being an inspiration to us all. They put on an outstanding performance, and we are incredibly proud of them all. What a show!
Before we break up on Thursday, 8th of February, we are looking forward to next week and more celebrations of the Year of the Dragon with a trip to the Flower Market and CNY activities planned by our therapy team at school. Remember, the first day after the break for all students is the 20th of February.
I want to wish you courage and strength in the Year of the Dragon.
l hope that our similarities will give us the strength to get through any challenges and our differences will give us the courage to be the best that we can be.
Kung Hei Fat Choi!
