Dear all,
We had a very positive start to Term 3. It is truly remarkable to see everyone in such a positive spirit and enthusiastic about the new term.
Additionally, I am thrilled to announce that we started a new deep-learning project called "Together We Can". This project is aimed at fostering collaborative learning among our students and also our staff. It was great to see students from two different classrooms working together, exchanging ideas, and learning from each other. By strengthening relationships and social connections within the school community, we are teaching students that together, we can achieve more. We look forward to sharing more updates on the project in the coming weeks.
This week, I received the results of the ESF Stakeholder Survey that took place in February. We had a very good response rate from all stakeholders, with 21 parents, 38 staff and 19 students (selected students from Y6-Y13) completing the survey. The overall feedback from all groups is very positive, with the culture of collaboration and support, as well as the progress of students, highlighted as the strengths. Together with my leadership team, I will carefully analyse the results to identify other emerging themes. We understand the importance of these results in shaping and improving our school's future policies and practices. We will share our findings and plans for improvement with all stakeholders in due course. Thank you for your continued support and feedback.
Thank you once again for your continued support. Together, we can achieve more.
Warm regards,
Anna
Since Easter, students have been involved in a whole-school project called "Together We Can". The project aims to foster a school culture that promotes meaningful and authentic connections within the JCSRS community. Students will strengthen skills in the global competencies of communication and citizenship by engaging with others to build connections and achieve a sense of belonging within our community.
Classes from primary and secondary have teamed up to focus on wellbeing and other curriculum areas. Each week, these classes meet for carefully constructed and co-taught lessons designed to develop friendships and inclusion. The class groups are:
Teachers are documenting the learning journey on posters around the school. Look out for Seesaw updates to see how the classes are learning together. Progress towards the Global Competencies will also be reflected in the end-of-year report.
The world is rich with diversity, which is reflected in the observances celebrated by its various cultures and populations. We hope that knowledge of the holidays and celebrations for diversity in this calendar can enhance our school's diversity and inclusion efforts.
