Dear all,
What an inspiring fortnight we’ve had! From our debut at the ESF Primary Orchestra Jam to securing back-to-back victories at the Rugby tournament, our students have dazzled us with their unique talents. These moments perfectly capture the remarkable potential we nurture every day at JCSRS.
A special thank you to everyone who completed the ESF Stakeholder Survey. Initial results are extremely positive, and I look forward to sharing a full analysis after Easter. Your voice truly shapes our school’s future.
We were proud to host the ESF Impact Walk, where colleagues from Glenealy School observed how deeply student-friendly IEPs are embedded in our practice. Their feedback highlighted our students’ engagement, self-regulation, and collaboration—a testament to our staff’s unwavering dedication. Through intentional support and seamless teamwork, we ensure every learner feels both challenged and celebrated.
Thank you to Silver Class and the parents of Tafheem and Saad for sharing insights about Eid and enriching our community’s understanding of this important celebration.
Coming Up:
Annual Review meetings (invitations arriving soon)
JCSRS Art Exhibition Opening Night (24 April at 5.30 pm)
PTA meeting (see App message for details)
As Term 2 ends, my deepest gratitude goes to our extraordinary staff—teachers, EAs, therapists, and support teams—who make our vision of Happy, Engaged, Learning students a daily reality.
Wishing you all a joyful break.
Warm regards,
Anna
All secondary students attended a three-day camp experience either at JCSRS or offsite at Outward Bound in Sai Kung on 19th–21st March. With the weather on our side, the camp provided our students with the opportunity to take on new challenges, strengthen relationships and develop independence. Camp creates memories–here is a personal reflection by Jade Class student Jadon Young.
It takes a strong team effort–led by camp leaders Mike, Belinda and Jackie–to make it all happen. Big thanks to the JCSRS staff and supporting family members who worked tirelessly to create optimal conditions for our students to succeed. Everyone Happy, Everyone Engaged, Everyone Learning.
The JCSRS orchestra group recently participated in an exciting week-long orchestra jamming event, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm for music.
On 25th March, students from Kowloon Junior School, led by Jessica Swett, joined us for a lively jamming session. Ten KJS students brought their ukuleles, and after sharing their musical skills, they swapped instruments with JCSRS students, demonstrating a spirit of collaboration and camaraderie. Everyone enjoyed the session, communicating and sharing valuable experiences on how to play their instruments.
On 27th March, the JCSRS orchestra group had the wonderful opportunity to perform at Sha Tin Junior School as part of the ESF Orchestra Jam, where they were joined by talented students from Sha Tin College. Under the guidance of conductor Sharon Wallis and co-conductor Grace Kwan, the students performed beautifully, diligently following their conductors’ cues. The audience was captivated by their performance, responding with several enthusiastic rounds of applause.
We are thrilled to announce that the group has been invited to perform on the opening night of the JCSRS Art Exhibition on 24th April. We warmly invite everyone to join us for an enchanting evening of music and art, celebrating the creativity and talent of our students!
We are excited to share that our recent Language Meet-Up was a great success! Focused on the importance of declarative language, the event brought together parents, family members, and domestic helpers, all eager to enhance their communication skills with children.
The session was delivered by Speech Therapist Cheryl, who provided insightful strategies and practical activities to support the development of declarative language in everyday interactions. Participants learned how to effectively use statements to convey information, reduce questions, and engage children in meaningful conversations.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to this enriching experience. Together, we are building a strong foundation for our children's language development and fostering a supportive community!
