Dear All,
What an incredible display of community spirit we witnessed last week! Our ‘Meet the Teacher’ event was attended by 65 parents, who connected with their children’s class teachers. Seeing our classrooms filled with such positive and collaborative conversations was truly wonderful. Thank you for prioritising this important partnership; your engagement is the cornerstone of our students' success and well-being.
The community spirit continued at our PTA AGM, which saw a fantastic attendance of nineteen parents and five staff members. It was inspiring to be in a room with such a committed group of people, all dedicated to enhancing the experience of our students. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed committee and look forward to seeing the positive impact of their initiatives on our whole school community this year. Your energy and commitment are truly valued.
Last week was also a time of poignant farewells and warm welcomes within our staff family. During our assembly, we said a heartfelt farewell to Vicky Chan, who is retiring after an incredible 28 years of dedicated service as an Education Assistant at JCSRS. Vicky’s impact on generations of our students and staff has been immeasurable, and she will be deeply missed. We wish her all the very best in a well-deserved retirement. Next week, we will be saying goodbye to Jeremy Mak, OTEA, who is starting a new chapter in his career as a social worker. I am sure you will join me in wishing him all the best in his future endeavours.
As we say thank you and goodbye to our colleagues, we are equally thrilled to welcome another. Today, we were delighted to introduce Joyce Wu, our new Educational Psychologist, who will be supporting our school this academic year. We extend a very warm JCSRS welcome to Joyce and look forward to the valuable expertise and support she will bring to our students and teams.
It is through these connections – between home and school, between past and present – that our unique community is strengthened. Thank you for being a part of it.
Warm regards,
Anna
