Dear all,
What a vibrant and joyful week it has been at JCSRS, filled with cultural celebrations and a touch of spooky fun!
Last week, our Explorers and Foundation students treated us to a magnificent assembly celebrating Diwali. It was a feast for the senses, filled with lights, enchanting storytelling, and beautiful dancing. I would like to extend a special thank you to the students and staff who worked so hard to share this celebration with us. I hope all our families and staff who observed Diwali, and those marking the Chung Yeung Festival this week, had a wonderful time filled with joy, reflection, and celebration with your loved ones.
The festive spirit continued today as our primary classes enjoyed a fantastic Trick-or-Treat event around the school. It was wonderful to see our students' colourful and creative costumes and watch them encounter everything from 'Monster Phonics' monsters to other fun and scary characters! A special congratulations to Miss Tic Tac for the most creative costume!
Our teachers and therapists are now looking forward to connecting with you next week during the Parent Teacher Therapist Conferences. These meetings are a cornerstone of our home-school partnership, and we look forward to discussing your child's progress and goals. If you are coming in person, I look forward to the chance to catch up with some of you.
Finally, a gentle reminder to please look out for the formal invitation to our 40th-anniversary show later this term. It will be a wonderful celebration of our school's history, and we look forward to sharing this special milestone with you all.
Warm regards,
Anna
We had a fantastic turnout yesterday at our Introduction to AAC workshop for parents and caregivers. It was wonderful to see so much engagement and discussion. You can visit our Total Communication at JCSRS webpage to access the slides and video recording from this workshop.
We will be having our AAC Awareness Assembly on 7 November to conclude our AAC Awareness Month celebrations.
Thank you again for your involvement. We appreciate your partnership in supporting our AAC community.

The world is rich with diversity, which is reflected in the observances celebrated by its various cultures and populations. We hope that knowledge of the holidays and celebrations for diversity in this calendar can enhance our school's diversity and inclusion efforts.
