Dear all,
Happy New Year! I hope you and your families had a restful and joyful holiday season. It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school, and we have started 2026 with incredible energy and a strong sense of community spirit.
Last week, we were blessed with great weather for our whole-school trip to Inspiration Lake. It was a perfect day of fun, outdoor activities organised by our class teams, enjoyed in a relaxed picnic atmosphere.
I am also immensely proud to congratulate all the students who represented JCSRS at the Special Olympics event last Saturday. Our athletes returned with a fantastic haul of medals, but more importantly, they displayed remarkable skill and sportsmanship against strong competition and clearly had a wonderful time. Well done to everyone involved!
Our sense of community was on full display today at our Walkathon. This event provided a powerful opportunity for our students, families, and staff to come together with a shared aim: to raise funds for the victims of the devastating Tai Po fire. All proceeds from today – cash donations and digital payments via QR code – will be directed to the Hong Kong Government Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. Thank you all for your support.
Finally, you are warmly invited to join us for the JCSRS 40th Birthday Fun Day! Following the success of our Magical Tour Through Time shows, we look forward to bringing our whole school community together for a day of laughter, games and joyful memories.
This event reflects our vision to celebrate 40 years of JCSRS while raising awareness and celebrating diversity within our Hong Kong community. We hope you can join us for a day of joy, connection, and shared spirit.
Warm regards,
Anna

Golden Skies and Gracious Winners: JCSRS shines at Special Olympics
Last Saturday, nine of our finest athletes took to the track and field to represent JCSRS at the Special Olympics Hong Kong Regional Athletic Meet. Under a canopy of cool blue skies and brilliant sunshine, our students demonstrated not only their physical prowess but the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The day's events
Our team participated in a rigorous schedule that tested both strength and speed.
Individual sprints: every student competed in a running event, showing incredible focus from the starting blocks to the finish line.
Field power: in the throwing events, our athletes displayed impressive technique and coordination.
The big finale: to cap off the day, four of our boys teamed up for a high-energy relay race, proving that teamwork is the ultimate "win".
Podium success
The hard work during training sessions clearly paid off. We are thrilled to announce that many of our students medalled in their respective categories! While the medals are a wonderful souvenir of the day, the real victory was seeing our students compete with confidence and joy.
Staff reflection: "The determination on the students' faces as they rounded the final turn was truly inspiring. It was a beautiful day for the JCSRS community."
A huge thank you
A special thanks goes out to the parents, coaches, and volunteers who made the day possible. Your cheering from the sidelines was the extra fuel our runners needed in those final meters!
A reminder to families of students aged 15 and above.
